Trail Practice’s design for Korres Cosmoprof 2024 Booth in Bologna, invites visitors on a journey of discovery into Korres’ new era, creating an environment that harmoniously balances elements of the past and the future, of the experienced and the unexpected.
In designing the Korres Booth the primary objective was to craft a space that encapsulates the brand’s core pillars: Greece, Nature, and Research. Defined by a strict, orthogonal structure made of galvanized scaffolding, the booth forms a stable enclosure that directs movement inward. This industrial design-inspired element emphasizes the space’s rigid framework, while a white curtain with leather straps introduces a softer boundary within the inside part of the shell. The curtain’s transparency, allowing light to diffuse freely, contrasts with the rigid metal frame, creating a discreet yet inviting barrier between the interior and exterior.
Furniture, materials, textures, and colors are part of an architectural vocabulary developed to represent the Korres brand worldwide. The distinctive Nissos shelves, with wood-carved details that abstractly embody a neoclassical aesthetic, serve as the main display surfaces. The juxtaposition of elements reminiscent of traditional pharmacies with contemporary techniques and materials is further emphasized by the design choice of stainless steel counters, which morphologically resemble lab tables. These adaptable counters meet the commercial space’s requirements, functioning as display tables, shelves, or showcases for products. In line with the design intention of blending the old with the new, screens with vibrant blue cables have been installed to display information and images, providing visitors with a multifaceted experience. Furthermore, the inclusion of custom-designed furniture with handmade knitted details introduces a variety of textures, intensifying the space’s sensory impact. Together, these elements transform the booth into an interactive platform that engages visitors on multiple levels.
KORRES
After extensive research and analysis of Greek flora, a study including over 3,600 plants and herbs, Korres honors its deep roots and heritage by developing innovative formulas made from organic and natural ingredients. The brand’s philosophy centers on harnessing the power of nature through a holistic Full Circle approach, covering all stages from seed to extract, that is, formulation, water purification, product creation, and component reuse. Trail Practice has crafted spaces of various sizes, from experience stores to shop-in-shops and exhibition booths, utilizing common expressive means, to represent Korres on a global scale.
The creation of a recognizable brand identity (brand ID) requires the synthesis of an architectural vocabulary that is subtly repeated, crafting worlds within worlds. This challenging demand brings architecture, interior and industrial design, and graphic design into a synergistic process, evolving simultaneously across different design scales.
